Christening and family photography in Kaunas 2020 07 18

I arrived early and took  few photos while  family was preparing for  the day. I’ve started with a few photos of Herkus and then started pictures of some older children. I especially like the shots while they were getting ready to celebrate.

We all went to Pal. Church of Archibishop Jurgis Matulaitis, which was a cosy and magnificent building with such a beautiful soft light. I love making photography in the churches – the textures and light create really impressive conditions for photographing children and families.

I love photographing blessings and christenings – there is something about the combination of such a wonderful, yet serious, occasion.

This shot was at the end of the ceremony when Linas lifted boy Herkus into the air in “Lion King” style, where everyone had seams. All family members were included in the service to make it a special occasion for everyone.

We then headed to a nearby park where it was a good place and perfect mood to take pictures of the family.

It was a perfect day and I enjoyed my photos. I hope you enjoy watching.

Anniversary of Ieva

While the majority of my work is with children I photograph families of all ages and so I was thrilled when Ieva arranged 30 years anniversary and asked me to commemorate Her celebration.

I had met Ieva previously as when I used to photograph Majus christening. It was wonderful to see Ieva with husband again, and to meet their beautiful kid Majus.

“LighHouse” Kaunas Lagoon is a beautiful spot for photographs and as we didn’t want to walk too far we utilized the stunning spaces around “LighHouse” for the pictures. It’s a lovely spot for family portraits as there is a lot of variety without having to walk for miles.

We had a wonderful time taking lovely natural family photographs in LighHouse Kaunas Lagoon . We used natural light in and around Kaunas Lagoon.

We had a great time with a beautiful family.

Sister’s christening day

I love photographing christenings and so I was thrilled when Eglė asked me to document special day.

I also love that this image shows the architecture  church of Vytautas the Great, which is such a beautiful building with the wonderful light streaming in from behind the family and the repeated arches of the window and the roof really drawing the eye back to the family, to the focus, to christening day.

The christening itself at Vytautas Church in Kaunas was just lovely – a really wonderful and relaxed day.  The service was lovely, part of the usual weekly service and with a very interesting sermon which is always a treat.

When children are involved, always exciting and unpredictable.

A wonderful time was had by all and here are just a few favorites from the day.

Marius’s Christening 2019 07 06

I always reflect on how lucky I am to have so many repeat clients for my children family and baby photography. I first met Agnė back in 2018, and have visited Agnė and her growing family. It’s such fun to watch the children grow and to get to know the family over the years.

I love photographing christenings and so I was thrilled when Jurgita asked me to document Marius special day. On arrival I was met by Jurgita’s brother Andrius and driven to the family home which was full an enormous extended family – little Marius has brother and sister. It was wonderful and I can only imagine how much fun it will be to grow up surrounded by so much noise, laughter and love.

It’s an incredible venue and the childs had such a great time exploring the gardens as we took family photographs.

We then headed off to the Pal. Jurgis Matulaitis church. We had a wonderful time before the ceremony – Marius was an absolute joy, full of smiles and laughter.

The ceremony which was an amazing thing. The church was beautiful and the light incredible.

After the ceremony, we travelled to the local “Dėžutis” pub for a delicious lunch and a chance for everyone to relax, have a drink and enjoy everyone’s company. It was a brilliant way to spend an afternoon – lots of children running around and having fun, and the age range from the tiniest newborn only a few days old to the girl’s great-grandmother – it was a true family occasion.

I was so thrilled to share this wonderful day with Jurgita and Mantas, and their lovely family and friends.
